Next Event is for Oranges and Greens on Friday 20th February 2009

Our Mini events will now include a novice stage (called Micro-Reds for Red age) This means that we welcome children born in 2001 to 2003 into this stage so that they can play matches against children their own age before feeding into the main event.
The Novice stage is introduced so players who have been played limited amount of time (as we can see from their player profile on the LTA website) can play similar stage players before progressing to the main draw.
Timing:
10.30 to 13.00 Mini Oranges - novice stage starts first
12.00 to 15.00 Mini Greens
Players may request special timings and we will try and accomodate.
Entry cost: £8 per event for Mini Green, £6 for Mini Orange
For Mini events we will endeavour to create qualification stages for micro-reds and tournament novices, that will then feed into the main event. This will be based upon the information provided on the entrant sheet and a review of tournament history on the LTA website.
We will endeavour to have girls and boys playing in separate competitions in Oranges and Greens
LTA Grade 7, all courts and balls used will be set up according to LTA guidelines. Players may use whatever size racket they choose.
Umpires: Parents will be asked to assist scoring on Mini Orange events.
Coaches: All coaches attending the event will have free tea / coffee provided
Facilities: 4 floodlit hard courts, clubhouse with toilets, kitchen and changing area. Basic food and drink supplies will be on sale.
Format: Mini Oranges will be best of three set matches with each set being a tie-break to 7 points, with sudden death at 6-6 per set.
Mini Greens will be one set first to four games with two clear, tie-break to 7 points at 4-4. . We play sudden death deuces.
Each competitor gets a minimum of three matches. If a player (through w/o etc) does not get two matches, then a 50% credit is issued for another MyClubCoach event.
Each orange match are scheduled to be 25 minutes long, rest period a minimum of 15 minutes.
Each Green match is scheduled to be 30 minutes long, rest period a minimum of 20 minutes.
Our preference is to run main draw, with a consolation event. If numbers are less than 5 per event, then we may run groups so that players get more ratings matches. If we run groups as main draw, then there must be an opportunity for two players to qualify from any group (albeit second maybe best second place)
All events will be run using TTP software, providing on-line information for draws, match scheduling emails (to reduce waiting time) and vehicle for showing results.
